Industrial Aluminium extruded sections
The advantages of vertical powder coating plants compared to horizontal plants is the high productivity rates at reduced running costs, smaller footprints and the need for fewer operatives for racking and un-racking the products.
1,Automatic uploading the parts2, Energy Saving Pretreatment WasherA key component of the vertical powder coating system is the pretreatment washer system. COLO design uses an innovative spraying style washer to provide high performance pretreatment of the aluminum extrusions. The spraying washer design eliminates the use of thousands of spray nozzles typically found inside the washer tunnel of a vertical coating line. The system uses low maintenance trays to direct the flow of each pretreatment stage down over the top of the extrusions similar to a waterfall. Using the system reduces the pretreatment chemical costs and saves water.3,fast color powder spray booth with recovery systemPowder recovery and reclaim is accomplished using high efficiency cyclone technology allowing reclaim of high volume colors and spray to waste capabilities for short color run requirements. The high efficiency cyclone system can recover approximately 98% of the powder overspray and return it to the powder feed system for reuse. The standard vertical powder booth design utilizes polyethylene booth sidewalls which are indexed downward for cleaning during the color change process. Complete color changes in the standard booth set-up can be performed by a single booth operator is less than 15 minutes.4,Indirectly Heated Powder Cure OvenAfter application of the powder coatings, the aluminum extrusions proceed to an indirectly heated convection oven for a complete cure of the powder coatings. The natural gas fired ovens are very energy efficient in design and provide the optimum environment to cure the powder coatings. Indirectly heating the powder cure oven eliminates the concerns about possible contaminants from the burner and helps provide excellent control over the temperature profile within the oven.5,Automatic download the part.
The COLO Manual Powder Coating System
No matter where you are, you'll be powder coating perfectly with the new COLO. Whether operating in heat or cold, in dry or humid conditions, COLO delivers outstanding functionality and performance required for any coating environment.
Why should I choose powder coating over wet spray painting?
Powder coating is just "flat-out" superior to wet spray in so many ways. If your part is capable of being powder coated, their is really no reason why you would be compelled to choose otherwise. It's generally less expensive to powder coat a part once than have it painted several times during its life.
Powder coating is not subject to the extra time it takes to set up and break down from wet spray paint. The chemicals used in wet spray painting have to evaporate which can take up to weeks before a complete "cure" is attained. Powder coated parts are "cured" as soon as the part cools down. Further, the thermal bonding process used in powder coating makes for a much more durable finish than wet spray paint. Powder coating is also more environmentally friendly than wet spray painting because it does not involve the potentially harmful chemicals used in a wet spray painting.
As mentioned above, wet spray painting involves the use of chemicals that can be potentially hazardous to people and the environment if not dealt with properly. Powder coating uses an air gun to blow away misapplied powder rather than resort to the chemical thinners that wet spray paints require to clean up, or fix, application errors.
Powder coating offers a wider variety of colors and textures. The powder can be engineered to wrinkle or create veins of different colors throughout the coating when baked. Wet spray paint is more limited in what it can produce. Yet the possibilities with powder coatings are endless.
And finally, powder coating is more durable and weather resistant than wet spray paint could ever be. When we bake out the parts, the powder melts, forming a seamless bond around the parts. This bonding process creates a virtually unbreakable sheet of protection upon the surface of the parts.
